Virtuality and reality
Last update: 29 Mar 07, 03:24 ET

Do you believe that everything around you is real? It was easier to live in the previous time. You could touch everything what you saw. You knew everybody who told you news and it was easy to decide – believe him or not. In the last two centuries our world has become so small because of technologies and mass media. But "the level of trust" in everyday news is not as high as "a long, long time ago".
Cold freezing weather comes to London, especially in the point where it is bordering with Teheran. British officials repeat us again and again, that everything has happened inside Iraqi territorial waters. Can Iran (together with you and me who want to know the truth) believe the data from the navigation system, controlling from Washington? I'm not sure.
As a lot of things in our life, money is more virtual than real now. We will never see the real billions of dollars that be able to come to us after the House-passed bill will come through all barriers. Yes, the millions for peanut storage won't affect so much people as increasing of the minimum wage will do, but, I think, they will be in a more useful way, that Bush has suggested.
Who are they – traffic-controllers of these billion-dollars-rivers? The head of Fed is one of them. Ben Bernanke isn't so famous as his predecessor Alan Greenspan, but he is working seriously to receive the same great prestige. Will he be able to become the next guru for Wall Street.
Mr. Bernanke is working hard but today one hard drive with personal data can cause a "storm" in the financial war. And I can't decide who is more dangerous for our stability – hackers who stole financial data from computers of discount retailer TJX Cos. or officials who had lost notebooks with federal veteran's personal data.
Real shops are loosing their war for virtual shops. Smaller spending (only for site and delivery) – more efficiency. The Circuit City, especially its employees are not among the winners. The 3.400 ready-to-go-out employees, truly said, are not "overpaid'. They are only better-experienced workers. I don/t believe, that it'll be the real economy for Circuit City.
The real working "detector of truth" – will our life be easier with it? Yon connect wires to the person who swear to tell the truth, as D. Kyle Sampson will do this morning in the Congress, and you are sure, that he really tells the truth. But I am sure our politicians will be the first, who'll find the way how to trick the machine.
Too high to survive. Have changed the psychical protectability in a small building for a better ocean-front view from the high residence building, we'll be in a bigger danger. Fire on upper-floors in Galaxy Towers in Long Beach "pushed" one person toward to the death. He was calling for help several times, but he had no choice.
May be the future will change something, but now you have the bigger chance to be killed in the computer game than in real everyday life. The most weighty problem – in real life you can't push the button "Reload". Be partitioned in Quake-4 – looks bloody, but not as dangerous as to be suffocated in Japan.
